Antigua and Barbuda received up to two inches of rainfall as the remnants of Tropical Storm Dolly moved across the area over the weekend.

Dolly weakened into a tropical wave before reaching the country and did not produce the severe conditions initially feared. However, periods of moderate to heavy showers brought welcome rainfall amid ongoing concerns about dry conditions and water availability.

The unsettled weather disrupted some weekend activities, with religious services, sporting competitions and entertainment events cancelled or postponed. A flash-flood warning remained in effect until midday Sunday.

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service said the tropical wave had moved away from the Leeward Islands, although lingering moisture could continue producing showers into Monday.

There were no immediate reports of major flooding, widespread damage or serious weather-related incidents.

With the region entering the climatological peak of the Atlantic hurricane season, residents are being encouraged to remain prepared and monitor official weather updates.
