King Charles III and Queen Camilla depart Antigua and Barbuda
King Charles III and Queen Camilla departed Antigua and Barbuda on Wednesday morning following their visit for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
Governor-General Sir Rodney Williams and Lady Williams joined Chief of Defence Staff Brig. Gen. Telbert Benjamin and Commissioner of Police Everton Jeffers at V.C. Bird International Airport to bid the royal couple farewell.
The Royal Police Force Band played “God Save the King,” followed by Antigua and Barbuda’s national anthem. A salute followed, and the Royal Standard and Antigua and Barbuda’s flag were lowered.
The King inspected the guard of honour before joining the Queen aboard the British government’s RAF Voyager aircraft.
The departure concluded an eight-day Caribbean tour for the King, which included visits to the Bahamas and Guyana. Queen Camilla joined him in Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth summit.
