Deran Benta was named the Big Six T20 MVP after his high impact performances in the tournament.

Former Leeward Islands wicketkeeper batsman Deran Benta was named the Big Six T20 MVP after his high impact performances in the recently held tournament at the Warner Park Stadium in St. Kitts.

Playing for the City Sunrisers, the diminutive batter had a top score of 83 (43) against the Young Guns in his first match and would go on to register two other half century scores in the competition. Benta, who now plays for the Liberta Blackhawks, scored 83, 50, 39 and 50, accumulating a total of 222 runs at an average of 74 and collected three wickets.

He was nominated Sportsman of the Year by the Antigua and Barbuda Softball Association.
