A man and his female companion are now receiving treatment in hospital, after being shot by gunmen in an alleged attempted robbery at Fort James Beach late Thursday night.
ABS News understands that the two were in a rented vehicle on the beach about 11:30pm, when about three gunmen pounced on them. The gunmen opened fire as the man began to drive away with his female companion. The man was shot in the right shoulder, while the woman was shot in one of her hands. The injured man managed to drive himself and the woman to the hospital where they are receiving treatment.
At least three bullet marks are reportedly on the vehicle.
