A woman whose car was broken into outside Little Canton Supermarket on Independence Avenue believes she was deliberately targeted after reviewing surveillance footage of the incident.

The break-in occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Monday. Thieves stole her red purse and a bag containing her life savings, identification documents and sentimental items.

The victim said she had been saving $100 a day for months to take her young daughter to Disney World next year. She added that only a few close friends knew about her savings, which were sometimes kept in her car, at home, or on her person.

Although her purse and bag were later recovered, the cash was missing. Grateful that the situation wasn’t worse, she remains troubled by one question: “Who sent him?”
