The UWI Seismic Research Centre has reported a preliminary magnitude 3.5 earthquake east of Antigua and Barbuda on Monday night.
According to the automatic bulletin, the quake occurred at 9:32 p.m. local time at a depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicentre located at 16.66°N, 59.16°W in the Caribbean Sea.
The nearest land areas were:
– Point-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe – 268 km ENE
– Roseau, Dominica – 290 km NE
– St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda – 303 km E
The SRC noted that the location was automatically generated by computer algorithms and may be revised after analyst review.
