Prices for hairdressing and personal grooming services in Antigua and Barbuda recorded a steep decline over the past year, according to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report released by the National Bureau of Statistics.

The report shows that hairdressing salons and personal grooming establishments experienced a 25.5% drop in prices , contributing to a broader decline in personal service costs.

As a result, the miscellaneous goods and services index fell 4.8% year-on-year , reflecting lower prices across a range of personal care items and services.

The category includes services and products related to personal care, such as grooming services and other items used in daily personal maintenance.

The declines in this sector formed part of a broader trend of easing consumer prices recorded in the January 2026 CPI report, which showed falling costs in several categories including transport, food, and household goods.

The Consumer Price Index tracks the average change in prices paid by households for goods and services and is widely used as the primary indicator of inflation and cost-of-living trends in Antigua and Barbuda.
