    SLBMC Pediatric Emergency Department Treats 1,074 Children So Far in 2026

    The Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre says its Pediatric Emergency Department has treated 1,074 children so far this year, underscoring the demand for pediatric emergency care services in Antigua and Barbuda.

    The hospital shared the figure in a social media post on Monday, noting that each case represents a child in need of medical attention, a concerned parent seeking reassurance, and healthcare professionals working to provide care.

    “That’s the number of children cared for through our Pediatric Emergency Department so far in 2026,” the medical centre stated.

    The hospital also recognized the efforts of its pediatric team, thanking staff members for their work in caring for young patients.

    “Thank you to our Pediatric team for the care, compassion, and expertise they bring to every patient encounter,” the statement said.

    The update comes as healthcare providers continue to manage a steady flow of pediatric emergency cases while providing support to children and their families.
