LETTER: Bonnets for Boys | The Surprising New Trend Taking Over Antigua and Barbuda!

Dear Editor,

I must be living under a rock because I’ve recently noticed a curious trend sweeping the streets of Antigua and Barbuda—young men strutting around town in bonnets! Yes, bonnets, those delightful headpieces traditionally reserved for women trying to keep their hairdo intact at home while they binge-watch their favorite shows in pajamas.

Now, don’t get me wrong; I’ve always admired a good hair accessory. But when I see a young lad in a bonnet, I can’t help but think he’s either super committed to keeping his curls crispy or he’s just auditioning for the role of “Most Confused Fashionista of 2025.”

I mean, did I miss a memo? Is there a trendy new hair-care regime that I should know about? Some revolutionary hair product that’s making its way to the male grooming aisle? Are bonnets now the official headgear for navigating life’s daily tasks like grocery shopping or waiting in line for a bank?

Whatever the case may be, I’m genuinely curious! Is there a secret Bonnet Society I’m unaware of? A new fashion manifesto where men everywhere are encouraged to flaunt their inner inch of flair?

So, educate me, please! I’m not throwing shade; I’m just attempting to understand what on earth is happening. This could be the next big thing, and I don’t want to be the one caught without a bonnet or two when the trend really takes off!
