A magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck north of Antigua and Barbuda on Saturday evening, according to preliminary data from the UWI Seismic Research Centre (SRC).

The tremor occurred at approximately 7:05 p.m. local time on May 3, with a depth of 134 kilometres. The epicentre was located at latitude 18.39°N and longitude 62.78°W, roughly 175 kilometres northwest of St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.

Nearby locations include Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis (121 km north), and Brades, Montserrat (188 km north-northwest).
