Prime Minister Gaston Browne has accused a faction of public school teachers of using industrial action as a tool for political activism.

Speaking on his Pointe FM radio show, Browne claimed that some educators aligned with the Opposition United Progressive Party were deliberately seeking to tarnish the country’s image. He said these individuals had openly declared their political affiliations.

Teachers in Antigua and Barbuda have staged multiple strikes in recent months over unresolved disputes with the government.
