A man was taken to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre after allegedly swallowing a small plastic bag containing cocaine.
Emergency services were called to Lower All Saints Road at about 22:20 local time on 5 August, where the man was found and taken for treatment.
Preliminary reports indicate he told police he swallowed the bag after spotting officers approaching near a supermarket.
On arrival at the hospital, he reportedly went to the restroom, vomited the bag and its contents, and flushed them away. A CT scan was performed, and he was issued a police medical form with instructions for follow-up care.
Police say investigations into the incident are ongoing.
