Senator Dwayne George and the St. Mary’s South Branch have reaffirmed their commitment to community welfare through the ongoing provision of warm lunches for the elderly, vulnerable residents, and other members of the community.

The initiative, described by organisers as more than just a meal, aims to foster solidarity, compassion, and support for those most in need. Volunteers and branch members deliver the lunches weekly, ensuring that recipients are met with care and dignity.

“True representation is found in action, in service, and in showing care for the people we are honoured to serve,” Senator George said, expressing his gratitude to the volunteers and well-wishers who make the programme possible.

The lunches serve as a symbol of the branch’s dedication to easing burdens, strengthening community ties, and reinforcing a sense of belonging for all residents of St. Mary’s South.

Senator George added that the programme is intended not only to nourish bodies but also to uplift spirits, emphasising the role of community care in maintaining a united and resilient society.
