Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle has firmly denied any involvement in the ongoing government vehicle procurement controversy, dismissing the claims as politically motivated attempts to divert public attention.

In an audio statement, Pringle said those alleging his involvement should present evidence and take responsibility for their claims.

“If it is that you’re saying Jamale Pringle is involved and you have evidence of that, the person should have put their name on that document and stand by what they’re saying,” he said.

Pringle challenged the government to allow an independent inquiry not only into the vehicle matter but also into the operations of the Public Works Department, suggesting wider irregularities may exist.

“Let’s have an independent inquiry not only into that scandal, but into the Public Works Department and we get all the information. Let us not just look at it in isolation,” he added.

He noted that calls for his resignation are premature and baseless, stressing that only verifiable evidence should guide accountability.

“Once they can own it and they have the evidence, then let us call the inquiry into the matter. Too often we’re being distracted with these red herrings,” Pringle said.

The Opposition Leader’s comments come amid mounting public debate over the vehicle purchase controversy, which has drawn scrutiny across political lines.
