Former Leeward Islands batsman and President of the Leeward Islands Cricket Board Enoch Lewis was duly honoured by Cricket West Indies (CWI) for his exemplary service to the development and success of cricket in the region, along with his regional counterpart, Conde Riley of Barbados, on June 28 in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Lewis has contributed 18 years to the organisation while Riley has devoted 15 years.

The awards were presented by Dr Kishore Shallow, President of CWI, and Azim Bassarath, Vice President of CWI.

Dr Shallow praised the awardees, stating, “Mr Lewis and Mr Riley have shown unwavering dedication and leadership within Cricket West Indies. Their contributions have been instrumental across regional cricket from junior to senior levels, and we are honoured to recognise their service.

“The task of service in public life is not an easy one; it requires immense commitment, sacrifices, integrity, and a passion for making a difference. Directors Lewis and Riley have embodied these qualities throughout their tenure.”

Lewis was recently re-elected to the post of President of the Leeward Islands Cricket Board, a post that he has held for eight previous years where his remarkable leadership has contributed to the development of players in the sub-region, improving upon the financial outlook of the board and increasing the number of cricket teams with the addition of the Senior Women’s and Under 19 Women’s teams.

Distinguished guests at the event were the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of St Lucia, Philip J Pierre, President of Guyana, Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali, and Chairman of the International Cricket Council, Greg Barclay.
