Prime Minister Gaston Browne says he has been invited to meet King Charles III at Buckingham Palace in the coming weeks.
Speaking on the Browne and Browne Show on PBN on Saturday, Mr Browne said the meeting is expected to take place ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), which Antigua and Barbuda will host in November 2026.
King Charles and Queen Camilla are scheduled to visit Antigua and Barbuda from 27 October to 4 November as part of a three-country Caribbean tour, with their visit coinciding with CHOGM.
The King is also due to make a Royal Visit to the Bahamas and a State Visit to Guyana during the tour.
Mr Browne said his meeting with the King is not expected to address Antigua and Barbuda becoming a republic. He said any decision on constitutional change would require consultation with the public and that the government would not move ahead without determining whether citizens are ready for such a transition.
